How to Instantly Reset Edge in Windows 10

Up until recently, resetting Edge (the default Windows 10 browser) has involved a number of convoluted methods, some of which included multiple complex steps or the use of the Command Prompt, which can be intimidating for some.
Luckily, with the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, there is now a one-click solution.
To reset Edge, do the following:
  1. Close Microsoft Edge if running.
  2. Go to Settings > Apps & Features and scroll down to Microsoft Edge on the list.
  3. Click Microsoft Edge > Advanced Options > Reset.
  4. A pop-up window will appear confirming you are about erase all of Microsoft Edge’s data. Click Reset.
  5. A check sign will appear next to the reset button once complete.
When resetting Edge, you are bringing the browser back to near factory settings, meaning you will lose all of your browsing history, settings, saved logins, and cookies. You won’t lose your bookmarks.
If you are not running the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, things will look a little different for you, and there is no option to reset apps in the OS settings.
If Edge has been slow or unresponsive for you, resetting the browser could be a good solution, but before you take the plunge and force the Creators Update, there are a few good reasons to consider waiting until Windows officially makes it available to your machine.
