How to Access Another Computer from Your Computer?

http://www.wisecleaner.com Ever wish you could access some files on your work computer when you’re sitting in your home office? Need a report from your home computer that’s due in class? You can configure your computers to be accessible anywhere in the world, from virtually any other computer. There are a variety of ways to do this, including built-in tools, downloadable programs, and browser-based solutions. Read on after the jump to learn how. Using Windows Remote Desktop 1 .  Enable Remote Desktop on the computer you want to access. On the Windows PC that you want to access, you will need to enable Remote Access so that other computers can connect to it. You can enable this on the Pro or Enterprise versions of XP, Vista, 7, and 8. This method requires that you be on the same network as the computer you want to access, either through the router or through a VPN. Press the Windows key + Pause to open the System menu. An alternative method is to click the Start menu, ope

Here are Five Easy ways to Keep Your Computer Secure

http://www.wisecleaner.com 1. Update, update, update. Don't postpone requested updates and if you can, update proactively. Make sure automatic updates are turned on and note programs that you need to manually update from time to time. 2. Use an anti-virus monitoring program. Iowa State provides free options for students. I like some free programs like Avast! Make sure the anti-virus is installed, turned on and is set to scan the hard drive on a periodic schedule. 3. Scan occasionally for malware programs. Find a malware scanner and use it every few weeks to check for malware left by websites and software on your machine after getting the latest updates for the scanner. 4. Put yourself behind a firewall for protection. A good firewall can be your first line of defense in blocking hackers from getting in and preventing malicious programs from phoning back home. Use the built-in Windows firewall or try a free program like Comodo Firewall or ZoneAlarm. 5. Don

Should I Turn Off My Computer Or Leave It On ?

http://www.wisecleaner.com This is a debate that has been going on for decades. Whether you should turn your computer off at night or leave it on is not as it was decades ago since the mechanical switches that would ware out rather quickly have been replaced by electronic switches which was one of the primary reasons behind the recommendation to leave the computer on years ago. The argument behind whether you should leave your computer on or shut it down today has changed drastically. The argument now is attributed to things like the amount of energy used by a conventional computer to the lifespan of electronic components. One of the primary reasons for leaving a computer on at night is not usually even mentioned during the argument and that is so certain required maintenance can run while you are not on the computer like Defragmenting, Updating and more that has a tendancy of slowing a computer down so is usually scheduled during hours that are most likely not to affect a compute
