Create Shortcuts for Launching Any Program in Windows

http://www.wisecleaner.com

Keyboard shortcuts are something that was used by a very less number of people, the reasons, perhaps, is that they are little tough to remember, but once you get a hang of it, you will love the amount of time you save.
Here is a quick tip that will let you create shortcuts for any program in your Windows PC.
Simple Tip
The simple tip is for Windows 8 ( and above) users. There is a shortcut to look for apps, files and settings, it’s Windows Key + Q and then type in few letters of the name of the application you want to open, when it gets highlighted, press Enter.
Advanced Tip
In the Advanced tip, we will create Windows shortcut that can be executed using the run command.
Step 1: Create a folder anywhere and name it anything that tells you it contains shortcut links. For this guide, we will create it as “C:\Shorts
Step 2: Now right click on “My Computer” and then click on “Properties” and the click on “Advanced system settings” on the left.
Step 3: A separate Window will popup where you have to go to the “Advanced” tab and scroll down to find and highlight the ‘path’ variable in the System Variable.
Step 4: Click on Edit and type the path of the folder you have created for the shortcuts, “C:\Shorts” in this case. Then click Ok, Ok and Ok to close the window.
Important: Make sure you type the folder path after putting a Semicolon (;)

Step 5: Now, go to the “C:\Shorts” folder and create the program shortcuts you want to use, by right clicking, selecting Shortcut from New and then browser for the program shortcut from the desktop.
Step 6: Rename the shortcuts you have created so that you remember them easily, For example, you can rename Google Chrome as crm or Dropbox as drp, it could be anything as far as you remember them.
Now we are all set to launch the programs using a shortcut. For example, to launch Google Chrome, we will type Windows Key + R and then type the name we have used for Google Chrome, crm in this case.
It will launch the Google Chrome, similarly you can launch any program using this trick. And once you start using it more, you will realize the ease it brings to out daily work.
